QNAP TS-439 Pro
Another in the QNAP lineup of powerful devices intended for small business and corporate use, the QNAP TS-439 doesn't disappoint, offering the same ease of use, power, speed, and reliability that QNAP has become known for.
Though both are 4 bay bring your own drives NAS systems, the TS-439 Pro is a significant upgrade over the TS-409. Where the TS-409 was powered by a 500 MHz processor and 256 MB of RAM, the TS-439 has a 1.6 GHz processor and a full 1 GB of RAM.

As with any other NAS array of this size, RAID is one of the primary features offered. The TS-439 Pro offers RAID 0/ 1/ 5/ 6/ 5+Spare, JBOD, Online RAID Capacity Expansion, and Online RAID Level Migration support. Hot-swapping is also heavily supported, allowing broken drives to be replaced or smaller drives to be upgraded on the fly without taking the NAS down for maintenance, ensuring constant access to the information through many hardware emergencies.
Like many other QNAP products, the TS-439 also offers a quick copy button, allowing either an external drive to be copied to one of the NAS drives or one of the NAS drives to be backed up to the external drive depending on user configuration.
Independent testing usually strongly supports QNAP's designs, and the TS-439 Pro is no different, with testing of backup speeds reaching up to 60 MB/s.
As always with QNAP products, the QPKG software package platform makes installation of many third-party programs like Squeeze Center, WordPress, and MLDonkey simple.
