QNAP TS-209 Series NAS
One of the higher end models offered by QNAP intended largely for personal or home office use, the QNAP TS-209 as well as its sister products, the TS-209 II, TS-209 Pro, and TS-209 II Pro is a relatively compact product capable of handling a variety of rolls.
The TS-209 is a two bay storage device, intended to hold 2 TB total. These two drives are powered by a 500 MHz CPU and 128 MB of RAM. As with other QNAP devices, the TS-209 includes iSCSI target services and easily handles file sharing with Mac, Linux, and Windows computers and devices.

Though there are some minor variations between the core TS-209 and the later TS-209 II, TS-209 Pro, and TS-209 II Pro stations, the basic design between the four is essentially minor variations on the same theme, maintaining an excellent line of mid-range products suitable either for a home business environment or personal use. Though the design philosophy behind all four was very similar, it is worth noting that each of the "II" products includes 256 MB of RAM as opposed to the 128 MB included in the core product.
The major difference between the original TS-209 product and its follup up products are the specific software already available. Regardless of specific model, all four products offer Hot-Swap Raid 1 functionality.
As with many of other QNAP products, the TS-209 comes with TwonkyMedia server, letting it easily handle media storage for DLNA media players such as the Xbox 360 and the PS3.
