The QNAP SS-839 Pro is the smallest eight-bay network attached storage device on the market. it uses 2.5 inch hard drives rather than 3.5 inch hard drives. Like most other business-class network data storage devices it's of course a large amount of storage and also our RAID configurations. however, because it uses 2.5 inch hard drives, it's eight bays of storage only take up a the space of a cube that's slightly larger than seven inches. An additional feature of the QNAP SS-839 Pro is that it saves power.

It is able to do so because of it's size, the lesser amount of required electricity for 2.5 inch drives, and the low-voltage Atom N270 1.6 GHz processor that drives it. This small device is full featured with five USB ports, two gigabytes of memory and two eSATA ports complimenting it's eight drive bays and powerful atom processor.
