QNAP Systems is a manufacturer of quality network attached storage (nas) devices. In fact, QNAP stands for "Quality Network Appliance Provider". QNAP's stated mission is to be the world leader in NAS solutions. QNAP is headquartered in Taiwan, but also has offices in California (US).

QNAP make a number of bring your own disk type NAS devices. QNAP NAS's are of high quality and are generally quite speedy in each class/price group. For example, the QNAP TS-509 pro is one of the fastest NAS devices in independent tests with gigabit ethernet read results well above the 70 MB/s range. This device holds up to 5 drives and can be configured with RAID 5 for high availablitiy in case a drive fails.

QNAP NAS's range from one drive to multi-drive NAS devices that rival expensive server solutions for power and flexibility. QNAP provides a web-based management interface for all of its NAS devices. The newest interface features modern and fast AJAX type pages for quick management of the QNAP NAS.

QNAP calls its NAS products "NAS servers" for a good reason.
