Acer itself is only part of a larger arrangement of companies that form the Acer Group, which also includes Gateway, Packard Bell, and eMachines. Two main mergers created this larger parent group, with Acer absorbing Gateway in October 2007 and Packard Bell in March 2008. This leaves Acer the third ranked company in terms of PC production, and the second ranked in notebook production.
Though servers are a relatively small part of Acer's current lineup, they nevertheless offer several powerful and flexible models. However, only one product in current production can truly be considered a NAS, the Aspire easyStore H340. Other Acer server solutions include the Altos G330, a tower server, and the Altos R5250 and R720, both of which are rackmount servers.
